Welcome to Nottingham Community Market

Save the world Cooperative are putting on a Community Market in Sneinton, the idea being we wish to promote social eating here in Nottingham, a place where families can come out and enjoy some food from local Nottinghamshire producers at a fair price, all hot food and drink will be priced between £2.00 to £3.50 (no more than £3.50 per portion).

:

Save the world :We feel that Nottingham like elsewhere in the country going out is very expensive for families, healthy food, natural food, Street food, festivals, Markets a portion of food can be as much as £8 so a family of 4 or 6 with drinks on top can be an expensive night out.

We also feel as a society we need to move away from the current drinking culture up and down our high streets & towns and adopt a more European approach to socialising.. for families to come out to have a drink and some food with a bit of entertainment at an affordable price..

we are also passionate about tackling loneliness in our communities and affordable social eating we feel is a great way to get out and make new friends.

The event will also highlight the importance of food education, tackling food waste, Social Chefs, Ethical Products & Crafts, Supporting local businesses, Artisans and craftspeople, Recycling and reduction of single-use plastics,

SO

we are hoping to be able to be almost 100% plastic & Paper free. Friday the 1st of June is our first event, so please spread the word, invite your Nottinghamshire friends to like the page and please support this event.

With your support, we will grow the community market in Sneinton and put on other markets in other towns around Nottingham.

– SOCIAL -Eating : save the world

Save the world : Tackling loneliness, community cohesion, and making new friends are just some of the BENEFITS of eating socially.

Creating a family-friendly event where residents can come out, have some great food, drink responsibly and listen to some music is a great way to inspire the next generation to socialise and build COMMUNITY spirit.

– Tackling – Food Waste

Food waste is a massive issue in the UK as well as around the world, all that energy that has gone into producing that food is wasted and goes to landfill especially when low-income families are suffering from food poverty.  We have teamed up with a few SOCIAL CHEFS and community groups to bring you some great food and education around tackling food waste.

save the world : Fair – Food Pricing

Food that doesn’t cost the EARTH, All of our hot food caterers have agreed to serve healthy, nutritious food that costs no more than £3.50 a portion. In today’s society, we want families to be able to come out and enjoy an evening out, have some FUN without breaking the bank. COME AND JOIN US AND BRING YOUR FRIENDS AND FAMILY.

Just like any other business, the governance and ownership rights are all outlined extensively in the organizational documents and we are managed by an elected Board of Directors and Management team. our slogan is save the world.
